The Automotive Mechanic is responsible for repairing and inspecting vehicles that come into the shop, diagnostics, pricing out jobs, quotes, cleaning and maintaining their area. The Automotive Mechanic must possess superior mechanical skills and comprehension with various vehicle systems. Mechanics must possess or is actively seeking to acquire ASE Certifications to enhance their skill level and provide quality vehicle repair in a timely and cost effective manner.
Requirements:
High School Diploma. ASE Certifications a plus.
Superior ability to positively relate and communicate with customers, including outstanding telephone skills.
Prior responsibilities of leading, motivating and counseling employees under his/her direction on issues such as safety, quality, and policy and procedure administration/implementation.
Demonstrated history of improving facility sales while also retaining customers loyal to the shop.
Experience in implementing policies and procedures in the areas of financial control, safety, human resources, and environmental compliance.
Knowledge of point-of-sale software programs, and the mathematical skills to create billings, estimates and to control inventory levels.
Experience in preventive maintenance to keep facility equipment in safe and effective operating condition is a plus.
Demonstrated experience in store management operations, such as cash management and loss prevention.
Physical Demands
Must be able to stand on concrete or metal surfaces for extended periods of time.
Work in an environment that frequently experiences extreme hot and cold temperatures, loud noises, and exhaust fumes.
Lift and move inventory items, trashcans and other work related items (up to 50 pounds).
Must be able to work at a rapid pace for long periods of time.
Must be able to push, pull, pull up, bend at the knees and waist, twist body at the waist, raise and hold arms overhead, turn head-neck-shoulders as needed, grasp and hold tools and other items with hands, for either extended periods of time or many times throughout the shift.
Must maintain a valid Texas driver’s license.
