General Purpose and Scope of Position
Provides biology instruction. Maintains student records, attendance, grades, and other documentation as required. Maintains a safe, quality classroom.
Major Responsibilities
Becomes familiar with rules, regulations, administrative practices, guidelines and policies of the College. Provides adequate notice of absence. Maintains accurate attendance and grade records. Attends required orientation meeting(s). Performs other duties as assigned consistent with commonly accepted practices
Minimum Qualifications
Biology Discipline Standard:
A qualified faculty member in biology meets the discipline standard through one of two routes:
1. Possesses an earned master’s or higher degree from a regionally accredited institution in a biological science, or
2. Possesses an earned master’s or higher degree from a regionally accredited institution in any field with 18 graduate semester hours in biology-related courses.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous teaching experience is desirable.
Other Requirements
College transcripts required upon hire. All offers of employment are contingent upon an acceptable criminal background check.
