Lead and manage a team of 7 Operations professionals. Responsible for both daily processing, as well as oversight of responsibilities that include: Supporting the Commodities Sales and Trading desks on new business initiatives, with focus on physical Canadian and US Natural Gas, Oil and Products, Metals and US Electricity. Integrating new businesses and trading opportunities into existing processes and systems, more specifically commodities physical structures. Development of Excel-based models for the main purpose of creating reconciliation tools for physical commodity transactions. Term sheet review, contract drafting and transaction detail reconciliation against trade bookings. Coordination of new contract amendments and transaction restructuring with other firm wide department groups.
REQUIRES:
Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or equivalent) in Business, Economics or a related field plus five (5) years experience in a related commodities operations role.
Prior work must include five (5) years: Building Excel-based reconciliation models for physical commodities; Processing physical settlement analysis on structured commodity transactions against economic contract details for the physical commodities market; Working in North American physical commodities market in an operations role focused on logistics or front office support with hands-on experience with Canadian pipelines electronic bulletin boards.
Prior work experience must include one (1) year: Drafting contracts or term sheets for physical Canadian and US Natural gas transactions; Operations Management with responsibilities in products that covers physical Natural Gas; Performing trade checkouts and coordinating system on-boarding of Asset Management Arrangements and highly structured physical commodity transactions including development of structured settlement models; Coordination and review of contract amendments for structured physical transactions, including Asset Management Arrangements and structured physical commodities.
