Role Description
The Sample Handling and Logistics Technician will be part of a multi-discipline staff with primary responsibility for shipping, receiving, creating, distributing, handling and documentation of samples in support of multi-product laboratories.
Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities will include creating, sampling, shipping, receiving, labeling; ordering and managing disposables, buffer preparation and limited facility management, all while providing appropriate documentation. The colleague must work within established corporate and organizational guidelines and must appropriately record and document all relevant information. The colleague must be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and to interact effectively with peers and senior scientists as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, the ability to multitask, and effective interpersonal and communication skills are required.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
Associates Degree Required, Bachelor’s degree preferred. Requires 2 to 4 years of experience in a laboratory or manufacturing environment (bioprocess or chemical process industry preferred).
Demonstrated capability to work as a team member in a matrix development team.
Ability to follow established procedures under minimal supervision.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to utilize electronic inventory management systems following established procedures are required.
*This position works Monday through Friday day shift, but may involve on-call availability on weekends or evenings.
OTHER DESIRABLE ATTRIBUTES:
• Highly effective in a team-based, fast-paced environment
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Operational knowledge of computerized systems
• Experience with database management
• Capable of generating documents utilizing Microsoft Word and Excel.
