Its largest business division, Honeywell Aerospace, is a leading global provider of integrated avionics, engines, systems and service solutions for aircraft manufacturers, airlines, business and general aviation, military, space, and airport operations. The Safety and Information Management (SIM) Enterprise is a $1B product portfolio within the $13B Aerospace business. SIM is focused on connectivity, communication, surveillance and safety products. This position reports into that enterprise and is focused on growing our Information Management product line.

The Information Management and Cabin Systems Director will be responsible for the overall profitability of Honeywell's $140M portfolio of products that store and forward information (data recorders, servers, routers, WAP’s) as well as our cabin management products (Ovation Select). It is anticipated that there will be a high amount of re-use across the cabin and cockpit between these classically separate product lines. Combing these products under one leader will drive a “one aero information management” approach to future offerings that have a common core and are inherently and seamlessly software upgradable through our related connectivity portfolio.

Specific product responsibilities include:
Product line management of complete life cycle of, current products including product business plans and product roadmaps coordinated with all business units.
Development of new product concepts, especially focusing on collection of solid VOC information and development of robust product business plans.
Development of product roadmaps that consider mandates, competitive threats, and customers need dates to develop executable plans that meet all requirements in an appropriate time frame.
Communication and coordination with all other SIM leaders and applicable M&PM teams to identify synergies, design reuse, and coordinated development requirements.
High degree of interaction with customers, regulatory agencies, potential partners, E&T, BGA, D&S and ATR.
The successful candidate will understand and embrace opportunities to implement product improvement initiatives, while ensuring that product offerings and product changes are aligned with the overall product strategy. He/she will develop and maintain product strategies and roadmaps, and will also develop market analysis and segmentation, competitive analysis, voice of the customer (VOC) analysis, and value propositions. Additionally, the selected candidate will lead the product team, and partner with both business and functional resources to drive strategy execution. This position will also interface regularly with the other Aerospace Marketing, business and functional leaders to ensure goal alignment and consistent strategies.

Specific areas of responsibility include:
Owns and manages product life cycle financial performance (profit and loss)
Develop and execute strategic plans, product plans, including cost and growth strategies
Develop cost reduction strategies
Sets strategy for product portfolio optimization and organizational execution requirements
Product performance and integrity
Owns product prioritization and approves all funding requirements and changes, and manages funding of the changes
Approves all product line financial analysis in accordance with product line roadmaps/strategies. Determines and approves pricing inputs for all financial analysis, value pricing, pricing strategy and catalogue publications
Align resources for product strategy deployment for product line execution- including capital, RD&E, recovery, and technical capabilities (engineering and manufacturing)
Supports the Product Action Committee related to area of responsibility - to drive cross functional product strategy execution
Develop and execute integrated product, technology, and environment roadmaps
Defines value propositions based on customer needs analysis and incorporates into value proposition/go to market strategies
Collaborates with the Customer Business Teams to perform product voice of the customer
Develop and understand customer total cost of ownership
Develop and foster strong customer & partnering relationships
Strengthening Integrated Product Delivery and Support (IPDS) deployment
Establish management operating systems (MOS) to measure comprehensive program performance against customer requirements
Support program scope control, baseline changes, and net investment during design, development, certification and entry-into-service
Participate in monthly operation reviews for the customer and program relative to VOC, Development Program, Project & Delivery Performance, Quality/RCCA, and Reliability
Work closely with the PM and AME organizations to implement cost reduction activities necessary for the baseline Greensheet.
Heavy participation in STRAP and AOP activities
Develop infrastructure at HIS to support STRAP and program management
Effectively work in and maintain excellent relationships with all levels of the matrix organization
Ensure appropriate resolution of VOC issues in conjunction with applicable functional support

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor degree in Business, Engineering, or related field
10+ years of relevant program/product or project management experience in satellite communication or similar technical field
10+ years of experience building & leading integrated teams from various internal and external organizations

Additional Qualifications:
International customer experience preferred
Demonstrated competency in Six Sigma tools, software, and design processes
Strong analytical and financial skills
Experience setting & prioritizing goals and identifying & scoping effort
Program Management Professional (PMP) certification desirable
Strong customer & executive communication skills
Proven track record in product management
Strong business-to-business analytical skills, financial acumen, critical thinking and marketing skills
MBA from top tier school highly desirable
Strong background and knowledge of marketing processes, principles and tools, and a proven track record of successful new product planning and introduction
Strong program management or site leadership background
Strong background with customers and proven ability to collaborate across product lines and technologies to develop joint strategies and roadmaps
Proven ability to collaborate with functions (engineering / ISC / C&PS) to execute product plans and roadmaps
Broad aerospace product knowledge is desirable
Ability to think strategically and to scope tasks and set goals
Ability to manage business and organizational vision by communicating a compelling purpose, driving change cross-organizationally, and inspiring and motivating people and organizations
Knowledge of Aerospace business allowing for innovative concepts and promotion of new ideas
Strong written and presentation communication skills
Customer contact experience desired
