Job Description:
We currently have an open position for a Technical Program Manager-Hardware to join our Tridium team based in Richmond, VA. Tridium is a global software, hardware and services company that develops and markets NiagaraAX, a M2M software framework & JACE embedded hardware that solve the challenges of managing smart devices in real time, over the Internet. With over 300,000 instances successfully applied in energy-services, building-automation and industrial-automation, NiagaraAX is the operating system for “The Internet of Things.”
Job Responsibilities:
Leads major hardware development programs; direct all phases of programs from inception through market launch.
Responsible for cost, schedule and technical performance of programs or subsystems of major programs.
Participates in the negotiation of contract and contract changes.
Coordinates the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract.
Acts as primary customer contact for program activities, leading program review sessions with customer to discuss cost, schedule and technical performance.
Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules, identifies program problems and obtains solutions.
Communicate directly with customers to align timing plans, share schedule risk information, and escalate critical issues.
Lead the assessment of new product opportunities, consolidating technical, resource, cost and planning data.
Plan and execute early access and beta programs and new product launches.
Key Success Factors:
Ability to set judicious expectations and manage them with key stakeholders.
Ability to quickly assess unclear, complex, and ambiguous situations and reduce into distinct, clear, timely, and stable direction for the development team.
Deals with conflicting demands of the role, like win concessions without damaging relationships; be direct and forceful as well as diplomatic, escalate risks, issues without hurting the teams/people involved.

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree.
A minimum of 3 years of actual hardware program management experience; managing complex projects or multiple projects combined into a program.
A minimum of 5 years of technical product development experience.
A minimum of 1 year of experience managing the development of one or more enterprise class hardware development projects.
Additional Qualifications:
MBA or Master’s Degree in Engineering or Program Management.
Experience leading a minimum of one NPI process.
Experience leading embedded new product development based on companies such as Intel or Texas Instruments.
Experience leading globally distributed cross functional teams.
Experience in working with software and hardware dependencies.
PMP or equivalent certification preferred.
