POSITION SUMMARY:
The System Administrator (SA) is responsible for the upkeep, configuration, and reliable operation of computer and network systems supporting Nestle Purina Petfinder. The SA seeks to ensure the uptime, performance, resources, and security of the computer and network systems they manage meet the needs of the business, its consumers, and partners. To meet these needs, the SA may acquire, install, or upgrade computer components and software; automate routine tasks; write computer programs; troubleshoot; train and/or supervise staff; and provide technical support.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Partners with Management, PM’s and works with other teams to plan and implement projects
• Ensures Petfinder systems comply with Nestle Purina policies and best practices
• Contribute to training and knowledge sharing across the technical team and Petfinder Outreach
• Coordinates code configuration management and performs release engineering
• Collaborates with team members on process improvements to improve overall team and platform efficiency
• Responsible and accountable to management for system performance and availability
• Tracks, reports, and seeks to improve performance metrics
• Provides support to developers and operations staff
Perform all other duties as assigned
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Complete all required training courses
• Analyze system logs, identify potential issues, and recommend solutions
• Introduce and integrate new technologies
• Perform routine audits of systems and software
• Apply operating system updates, patches, and configuration changes
• Monitor and tune system performance and site delivery
• Manage backup and recovery of systems and data
• Administer user accounts
• Document system configuration and process
• Stay abreast of developing technology and industry trends
