Job Summary :

This position plans, procures, and schedules purchased finished goods and components utilized in Non-Chemical items produced at 3PL WH Partner.  Works with suppliers to maintain and update lead times, provides updated forecasts / requirements as necessary to ensure sufficient capacity and resources. This position will also be responsible for identifying and improving planning processes and inventory management to achieve desired customer service levels and inventory targets.  Prepare monthly purchasing and planning reports to discuss with management along with action plans for areas of improvement. This position interacts extensively with several departments including Planning, Sourcing, Finance, Commercialization, IT, Logistics, Marketing, Manufacturing, and Quality.  

Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain supply schedule (in alignment with the finished goods inventory and service level plan) for a selected group of supply sources:
Prioritize and sequence the delivery & production schedule to satisfy customer service levels and customer requirements; resolve any problems relating to delays or pricing promptly.
Review & analyze supply source capacity data over short/medium term, to adjust the short-term delivery schedule to optimize service and inventory turns.
Analyze capacity for long term, & make recommendations to address capacity surplus/ deficit.
Coordinate with planning, purchasing, receiving, forecasting, quality assurance, and suppliers to assure proper material support in meeting asset management and customer service goals.
Work closely with Marketing and Sourcing in coordinating launch, transition, and/or discontinuation of products. Set up new items and coordinate introduction /effectivity dates of new items required for Bill of Material changes.
Supplier management to assist supplier in meeting scorecard objectives.
Identify cost savings / optimization opportunities.
Initiate / oversee a supply program that maintains an appropriate inventory balance while keeping service levels at their required levels.
Work with Customer Service, Warehousing, & Transportation teams to address issues through continuous improvement in the Order Fulfillment Process (OFP).
Resolve Accounts Payable invoice discrepancies in a timely manner.
Maintain various key performance metrics, including Accounts Payable issues, inventory balances, supplier deliveries, and system updates.
Recommend appropriate safety stock setting for individual products, based on volume, supplier lead time, variability of demand, variability of supply, and product value/priority.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree with concentration in Business, Engineering, or technical field
3 years previous planning experience in an assemble-to-order manufacturing environment
Experience with using a major planning software and ERP system such as JD Edward or SAP.

Additional Qualifications:

Master’s Degree or Doctorate, a plus
APICS CPIM/CSCP certification a plus, must begin certification within 6 months of hire
Familiar with concepts of MRP, inventory management, Sales & Operations Planning process.
Strong analytical and negotiation skills
Good interpersonal skills, works well in a team environment
Strong organizational skills
Experience using a major supply chain planning software package, Advanced MS Office skills, Excel, and Access
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Experience in Chemical industry, a plus
