Under the direction of the Production Manager this position will develop and drive the manufacturing processes via continuous improvement to deliver and sustain profitable growth. The fundamental task will be to provide direction and guidance for the team of operators on shift to ensure that goals are met for critical manufacturing components. *This is a second shift position. *
Act as a role model to operators and be recognized as a leader.
Communicates performance expectations in a clear, professional and respectful manner.
Takes the shop floor lead role as agent for positive change, including raising the bar on objectives to attain and sustain “World Class Manufacturing” performance.
Provides full support and encouragement to direct reports in achievement of key performance objectives. This includes an accident-free workplace, environmental compliance, defect free production, meeting/exceeding productivity standards and foster employee involvement/engagement in support of continuous improvement activities.
Supports a culture to enhance customer relationships/satisfaction, encouraging active communication, employee engagement, and talent development.
The Production Supervisor will support shipping performance, inventory accuracy, prevention of dead/aged finished goods inventory and increasing the velocity of inventory turns.
Will support the key strategy of “Quality in Everything We Do”. A key element here is the prevention of defective product from being manufactured and, as a worst case, reaching our customers.
*BASIC QUALIFICATIONS*
3-5 years manufacturing experience
Associates or Bachelor’s Degree required
Must have previous managerial/supervisory experience
*ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS *
Leadership – the ability to energize and direct group efforts
Teamwork – understands the strength and importance of how team goals support the ultimate achievement of company goals
Communication – possesses strong interpersonal skills and demonstrates the ability to express thoughts and directions in a clear, consistent, professional and respectful manner.
People leadership/ coaching – ability to provide effective and constructive feedback and establish clear expectations
Results focused – shows a documented track record of consistently using data based decision making to achieve desired results
Good understanding of lean manufacturing principles
Bachelor Degree Preferred
Lean Six-Sigma a plus
